چکیده

2014 A 2-D velocity map in a cylindrical Rayleigh-Bénard flow is determined by means of a speckle photography technique. Automatic velocity measurements are performed by two different methods : (i) Isovelocity contours are drawn by spatial filtering; (ii) Local illumination by a laser beam produces Young’s fringes which are analysed by an image processing system. New methods are proposed for digital analysis of the speckle fringes. Revue Phys. Appl.17 (1982) 301-305 MAI 1982, PAGE

Simultaneous measurement of water flow velocity with fluorescent and speckle imaging technique

The average velocity of water flow has been simultaneously measured with fluorescent and speckle imaging methods. The measured velocities with two methods are in good agreement with each other and it confirms that the speckle imaging method can be used as a confident method to measure the velocity of water flow in a dry leaf. Also the velocity of water flow through thick and thin xylems of a le...

Laser Doppler, speckle and related techniques for blood perfusion mapping and imaging.

Laser Doppler velocimetry uses the frequency shift produced by the Doppler effect to measure velocity. It can be used to monitor blood flow or other tissue movement in the body. Laser speckle is a random interference effect that gives a grainy appearance to objects illuminated by laser light. If the object consists of individual moving scatterers (such as blood cells), the speckle pattern fluct...

Dispersion of passive tracers in a confined convective flow

A confined convective flow is experimentally studied at different Rayleigh numbers. Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) technique is used both to reconstruct Lagrangian trajectories and to evaluate Eulerian flow field. Dispersion properties of the flow are investigated by means of Lagrangian statistics on particle displacements. For each run of the experiment, single particle statistics have be...

An experimental study of particle sedimentation using ultrasonic speckle velocimetry

Ultrasonic speckle velocimetry (USV) is a non-invasive technique that allows the measurement of fluid velocity in flow and also that of powders under sedimentation. To improve the USV method, we studied the sedimentation of polymethyl methacrylate and silica particles in water. Then, we built a sedimentation cell and characterized the diameter distribution of the particles. Subsequently, we car...

Photoacoustic imaging velocimetry for flow-field measurement.

We present the photoacoustic imaging velocimetry (PAIV) method for flow-field measurement based on a linear transducer array. The PAIV method is realized by using a Q-switched pulsed laser, a linear transducer array, a parallel data-acquisition equipment and dynamic focusing reconstruction. Tracers used to track liquid flow field were real-timely detected, two-dimensional (2-D) flow visualizati...
